This might be one of the hardest reviews Iâve ever had to write â not because the product is bad, but because itâs just that much fun to talk about! Whether your âkidsâ are little ones or adult ones (a.k.a. your husband), if they love Jurassic Park, dinosaurs, or especially the T-Rex, theyâre going to absolutely love this toy.Right off the bat, this deserves a five-star rating for fun, quality, and sound effects. The audio is great â the roars, stomps, and growls all sound like they came straight from Jurassic Park. The visual design matches the franchise perfectly too.Now, if youâre using it on carpet, Iâd call it a solid 4 out of 5 just because of balance. The front support wheels are meant to roll, but carpet makes that tricky. On linoleum or hardwood, though, it performs beautifully â smooth, responsive, and surprisingly nimble.The control system is clever: itâs like a tank, with two forward and two backward toggles. Once you get the hang of steering it this way, it turns and maneuvers far better than youâd expect.Two key setup notes:1. Donât lose the tiny bag of screws that comes in the box â theyâre needed to attach the back legs.2. It has an internal rechargeable battery, which is fantastic. No constant swapping or chasing down AA batteries â just plug it in, charge, and go. Huge Hit for Our Dino-Obsessed Son!
We got this for our son’s 5th birthday, and it was easily the favorite gift of the day. He is completely obsessed with it. The remote is simple enough for him to use on his own, with one button for walking/roaring and another for a “demo” mode that makes it dance around.The absolute best part is the “smoke” breathing feature. You just use the little included dropper to put a bit of water in a reservoir on the dino’s head, and it shoots out a cool mist that looks like smoke, especially with the red light in its mouth. His eyes went wide when he saw that, and he thinks it’s the coolest thing ever. It walks well on our hardwood floors and even on the low-pile carpet. If you have a dinosaur-loving kid, this is a guaranteed winner.Quick tip: Make sure you have 5 AA batteries on hand (3 for the dino, 2 for the remote) so you’re ready to go right out of the box!

Super Fun But Very Loud
This dinosaur toy has a lot of potential and is a great concept for kids who love prehistoric creatures. The movements and light-up features are fun and engaging, and it seems fairly durable, which is a big plus for a kid’s toy. However, there are a couple of significant drawbacks that keep it from being a five-star product. The biggest issue is the volume. There is no volume control switch for the roaring sound effects, and they are incredibly loud. You can either go deaf or not have sound at all. It can become very irritating, very quickly, especially for parents. I found myself wishing for some tape or a way to muffle the sound just to have a moment of peace. Additionally, the remote control is not very intuitive and seems cheaply made. The controls can be difficult to master, making it frustrating for younger kids who quickly lose interest. The toy would be better suited for an older child, maybe 8+, who has the patience to figure out the controls and deal with the relentless volume. For an older child who can handle the remote, it’s a fun and exciting toy, but I would not recommend it for younger children. I will say that my friend and I had a blast putting it together and playing with it before letting the kids use it because of course we need to know how to use it before handing it off.
