I can not say enough amazing things about this small, but mighty machine! I ordered the purple one for my 5 year old niece (who is quite the diva) and it is exactly as pictured. The lights are so vibrant and who doesn’t love those cat ears and eyes the light up when the machine is on!!! There are also a number of different patterns for the front that ‘dance’ with the music.Originally, I was concerned about the size when I saw the box, but very quickly came to appreciate it as I saw how easy it was for my niece to carry around with her using the little leather strap that is firmly attached. See pic next to an average size coffee mug. The microphones are the perfect size for her tiny hands and if they were any heavier, I’m not sure she would be able to hold them up to her mouth for very long. The speaker is surprisingly crisp in sound for its size and the microphones have 4 different voice effects (male, female, doll and what sounds like a gremlin) that make karaoke with a 5 year old that much more entertaining :)The bluetooth connection was seamless. Both mics synched right away and it was easy to connect to different songs. I only connected via bluetooth, but there are options for AUX and an TF card. It charges using a type-C connection, which I apprecited because all of our android devices do too so there is never a shortage of chargers. It also hold a charge for a very long time which is super convenient. The icing on the cake for me was the 2 little handles on top of the machine that pop up so the user can rest a phone or small tablet on top. This is ideal for putting the lyrics on the phone (for older kids) for hands-free operation. I put the music video on for my niece as she sang along because she can’t read yet!The instructions were good, but it would be difficult for a small child to operate on their own as there is some ‘long hold for this effect’ and ‘short press for that effect’. I also struggled to figure out how to reduce the echo, but it is possible. Overall, this is not enough for me to adjust my rating of the product.I love this little device and think it is incredible valuable for the cost. I absolutely recommend it 🙂

With only an afternoon of use, I can say this Okaloka Mini Karaoke Machine is a hit!After charging, the unit powered on right away, the glowing ears and ascii LED art on the front came to life, it was a very nice start-up!The Microphones connected as soon as they were turned-on. No pairing, no hassle, no messing around.Even without reading the directions, it was straight-forward to figure-out the microphone volume, and to get your voice coming out of the speaker. There was a nice reverb (echo) making it sound like you’re singing on stage!!That was something I didn’t think about, you could just use this as a voice amplifier, complete with vocal effects coming out of the speaker!The description mentions TF card, that’s the original name of a MicroSD card, they’re the same thing. So if you don’t want to use a phone and Bluetooth with this speaker, you can put MP3s on a Micro SD card, which is what I did. As soon as you plug-in the SD card and turn-on the player, it starts playing. You can skip tracks by using a long-press of the play/pause button. It also has an auxiliary in, but I suspect I won’t be using that input.The Karaoke machine can be used right out of the box without having to do anything, but there are a lot of little features, all covered in the included instructions. You can adjust the reverb (echo) on the mics, the ascii LED artwork, the glowing ears, as well as the audio track on any music you play-back.The settings can be a bit much for younger people, long-presses of some buttons to have different functionality is a nice way to simplify the interface, but can get a bit confusing. A separate next-track button would be nice if you are using the included MicroSD slot, but it’s not that bad to use a long-press on the play/pause.The audio filter is very good for it’s price-point, you can easily drop almost all the original audio, and hear yourself on playback.The mic are very directional, which is a plus and a negative, as you need to keep the mic right in front of your mouth and rather close, which may be difficult for younger kids, but it’s easy to get used-to.There are other, comparable mini Karaoke machines on Amazon, but they don’t have the appeal of this one, with the color changing ears and the ascii LEDs on the front, which reminds me of the Yoto Player, which the grandkids love.

This has been the summer of mini karaoke machines, ant least around my house. My daughters got one from a school mate and from their cousins. I picked this one up so my son wouldnât feel left out. We were happy to find that it has a pretty good speaker. We love that it comes with two mics, and a lighting system that matches the tone of the music is really neat. Most of all we loved how into it he is. This little karaoke machine is actually a lot of fun. It looks like a purple catâs head with a big smiley LED face, so itâs already pretty eye catching, especially for kids and parties. Itâs small and light, with a handle that makes it easy to carry around from room to room (or even in your car).The sound is better than I expected for the size! definitely good enough for singing along and casual use. It also doubles as a Bluetooth speaker, which is super convenient when you just want to play music.
