A Vibrant, Colorful, Accessible Game with Surprising Depth
The United line of games from CMON/Spin-Master has always been highly-regarded for its fantastic, family-weight gameplay and beautiful presence, and this latest entry is no exception. After a series of games with Marvel Comics characters, this is the first in a planned line of DC Comics editions. You’ll find fan favorites like Batman, The Joker, and Catwoman here along with deeper cuts from, as the name implies, the Hush storyline. Knowing the storyline isn’t necessary to enjoy the game, but is worth it just to find out why Catwoman is playable as a hero while Superman can optionally be faced as a villain.Like the others in the United line, players cooperate to take down a comic book villain by playing cards in a circular “storyline” to allow them to move their hero, rescue civilians, and defeat thugs and henchmen before taking on the chosen villain. Because it’s cooperative, you can easily play with younger children (I’ve played a number of games with my 8-year-old), and the game is adaptable using provided equipment cards and rule adaptations to add extra challenge. All of the gameplay additions made by designer Andrea Chiarvesio’s team over the lifetime of the Marvel line are present here, specifically the aforementioned equipment cards and the ability for a player to also take on the role of the villain and play competitively against a team of heroes.The art on the cards and the chibi-style character game pieces really pop on the table, and the game is simple to set up and put away. Plus, shhhh…., but if you don’t tell the corporate powers-that-be you can even mix-and-match with the Marvel titles and take on Red Skull with Batman and his array of gadgets or see if Iron Man can take out The Joker and Harley Quinn. Almost infinite combinations with other sets, but also lots of variable fun with just this box.More DC Super Heroes United games in this line are planned depending on how this one sells, and at this price point it’s a no-brainer addition to your game collection or as a gateway to gaming with friends and family.

Does DC United make Marvel United redundant?
Amazing game. So many quality of life improvements over Marvel. Villains are more interesting now with under pressure BAMâs, heroes are more interesting, the equipment cards are also better. This took the Marvel United formula and improved it on every single aspect. It makes Marvel United redundant unless you are a fan of marvel but Dc United improves on everything. If you are a DC fan and like short solo games that also play great in groups this is it. You can play it with normal people aka people who would play monopoly or other popular boardgames. But will rollover their eyes at playing anything in the Top 50 BGG games. Simple to learn, fun to play and popular IP. It doesnât get better.

Yeah. I’m Man.Fantastic addition to the United system. Some of the best minis we’ve seen in the game to date, and Hush especially stands among some of the greatest villain fights in the system. Definitely recommend the game as a whole to fans of DC (or Marvel for the other boxes) who want a quick, super fun co-op or solo game that feels challenging, thematic, and exciting. I’ve logged hundreds of plays in the United system and already have probably 40+ plays of this box since getting Hush two weeks ago.

Why not be Batman?
This game is so enjoyable. I really enjoy the United system and the way that every play feels different.When the designers put their minds to DC, they took everything they learned with the Marvel game and have honed what I feel is their best work so far. Joker and Harley are fun, Hush is challenging and Superman is an amazing fight. Awesome game and a strong place to start if you are new to United.

Easy to learn but a great variety of play. Great art and the minis look amazing. I’ve played this both with friends and family and had a blast with both. Also the minis are great to paint if that’s you’re thing.

THE Best Board Game, period.
I’ve been playing board games since I was old enough to know how dice work, and I can say without hyperbole that the United board games are the absolute best I’ve ever played.They’re simple but detailed, accessible enough for new gamers but detailed enough for veterans, and can be enjoyed by players of all ages. The designers crafted lightning in a bottle here.There will (hopefully) be more DC superheroes to come, but until then there are tons of Marvel expansions to tide over even the most discerning comic book fan.Everyone who loves superheroes, board games, or just plain fun owes it to themselves to play United.It’s the game I’ve been waiting for all my life.
